What you might not realise is that we also provide support to several government departments including The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA). Our role is to support the Department of Veterans’ Affairs to meet the Nation’s commitment to care for our veterans and Defence service community - the men and women who have served Australia in times of war and conflict as well as peacetime.
As part of Bupa’s service offering, Bupa assists the Department of Veterans’ Affairs by providing high-quality clinical advice.
About the role
This is a fulltime Perm role and can be based at the DVA office in Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne or Canberra
In this unique Community Nurse role, you will;
- Provide clinical advice to DVA business areas to enable them to assist clients and client families/advocates, including:
- Providing clinical advice to requests received from DVA business areas, treating health providers, including community nursing providers and other nursing queries.
- Providing clinical nursing advice to complaints/ clinical incidents, policy development and program development activities
- Provision of clinical nursing advice in support of program and provider reviews under an agreed assurance procedural framework.
- Providing advice on complex clients’ who may require clinical nursing care.
- Undertake specific tasks in relation to the Community Nursing (CN) Program
About you
We’re looking for Community Nurse keen to move into a role without direct patient contact to work within a multidisciplinary team. Position is located the DVA CBD office in Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne or Canberra.
Role requirements
- Unrestricted AHPRA registration with the Nursing and Midwifery board
- Evidence of at least 5 years current clinical experience
- Strong critical analysis skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both clinical and non-clinical professionals.
- Demonstrated sensitivity and judgement in dealing with client related issues.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a productive team member.
- You must be an Australian citizen and be able to attain and maintain a baseline security clearance from the Defence security and vetting service.
