We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Outsourcing Lead to join the Heartland Bank Australia team based in Melbourne or Sydney, Australia.

You will play a key role in strengthening and maturing Heartland Bank’s technology outsourcing and vendor governance framework. Working closely with Technology, Risk and the broader business, you will oversee outsourced service provider performance, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and provide trusted advice to ensure our vendors, contracts and processes remain effective, resilient and aligned to our risk appetite.

You are comfortable managing competing priorities, engaging with senior stakeholders, and taking ownership of vendor and outsourcing challenges through to resolution. You bring a structured, risk-aware mindset while delivering practical and effective solutions.
Key responsibilities
IT outsourcing governance and CPS 230 compliance
Vendor relationship management, including performance reviews against SLAs and KPIs
Contract management, renewals and commercial negotiations
Maintenance of the IT outsourcing register and risk assessments (including exit planning)
Technology outsourcing risk and resilience, including incident and disruption response
Stakeholder engagement across Technology, Risk, Legal and Finance
Reporting, documentation and continuous improvement of outsourcing practices
You’re a pro with
IT vendor management, outsourcing governance or technology procurement in a regulated environment
Managing complex vendor relationships, including escalations and performance management
Contract management, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating technology service agreements
Understanding and applying APRA CPS 230 (and CPS 234) requirements
Working independently while collaborating effectively across teams
Influencing stakeholders and driving outcomes in a complex environment
Ideally, you will also bring experience with
Financial services or other highly regulated environments
Managing third‑party risk and operational resilience requirements
Supporting large-scale technology or transformation programs
Developing and uplifting frameworks, policies and governance processes
Qualifications/Certifications
Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business, Law or a related discipline
Relevant experience in IT outsourcing, vendor management or technology risk
