A fast-growing AI and analytics consultancy is seeking a commercially minded Principal AI Consultant to help establish and grow its presence in the Melbourne market.

This is a unique opportunity to join a highly entrepreneurial business at an early stage, working directly with founders and enterprise clients to shape AI strategy, deliver transformational projects, and drive commercial growth.

The role combines business development, consulting delivery, and team leadership, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building client relationships while remaining close to the technology and outcomes being delivered.

What You'll Be Doing

• Building and growing a portfolio of enterprise client relationships
• Leading AI, analytics and data transformation engagements
• Translating business challenges into commercially viable AI solutions
• Managing executive and C-suite stakeholder relationships
• Leading proposals, commercial discussions and solution design workshops
• Mentoring consultants and contributing to team growth
• Helping establish and expand the company's market presence in Victoria

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years' experience across consulting, AI, analytics, data science or related disciplines
• Proven success winning and delivering enterprise consulting engagements
• Strong commercial acumen with experience scoping and selling projects
• Ability to operate confidently with senior executives and decision-makers
• Experience leading AI, analytics or data transformation initiatives
• Previous people leadership experience

Highly Desirable

• Background within consulting, professional services or advisory environments
• Experience with modern AI technologies including LLMs, RAG, agentic systems and production AI
• Exposure to cloud and data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, Azure or GCP
• Existing executive network within Melbourne
• Experience building a new market, practice or business unit
