Role Description

This is a full-time, on site and remote Draftsperson role based in Sydney, NSW. The Draftsperson will prepare detailed technical drawings and documentation for custom joinery projects, including kitchens, wardrobes, commercial fit-outs, and other bespoke cabinetry. Responsibilities include interpreting architectural plans, site measurements, and client briefs to produce accurate shop drawings and 3D models for manufacturing. The role involves coordinating with designers, project managers, and workshop teams to resolve design issues, optimize materials and construction methods, and ensure drawings are production-ready. The Draftsperson will also maintain drawing standards, update revisions, and assist with project timelines to support efficient workflow in the factory and on-site installations.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CAD or joinery drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, or similar) and strong technical drawing skills.
  • Solid understanding of joinery construction methods, materials, hardware, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and interior design plans, take accurate measurements, and translate concepts into detailed shop drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality control in all drawings and documentation.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with designers, project managers, and workshop teams.
  • Good organizational and time-management abilities, with capacity to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in residential or commercial joinery, cabinetry, or shopfitting is highly regarded.
  • Relevant qualification in drafting, building design, interior design, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
