Interface Architect

Grade: 11/12

Salary range: $149,739-$173,174 + superannuation and leave loading

Duration: temporary full-time role for up to 18 months

Location: Hybrid with an in-office requirement 2 days a week in Sydney, McKell. This may be subject to change in line with DCS workplace policies

Drive integration design across mission‑critical systems supporting public safety outcomes.

Lead interface and integration architecture across the Disaster Recovery - Network Operations Control Centre (DR NOCC) and Public Safety Network (PSN) Core programs, ensuring reliable, scalable and well‑governed system integration across complex environments.

About the team

This role sits within the Critical Infrastructure Program architecture function in NSW Telco Authority.

The team supports delivery of the the DR NOCC and PSN Core programs. It is responsible for ensuring architectural coherence across highly integrated systems, with a strong focus on interface management, dependency mapping and cross‑domain integration.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Leading solution architecture for system interfaces across DR NOCC and PSN Core programs
  • Defining and managing interface architecture, including discovery, mapping and dependency management
  • Ensuring integration design aligns with enterprise standards and architecture governance frameworks
  • Working closely with vendors and technical teams to achieve consistent and reliable system integration outcomes
  • Supporting development of solution designs for governance review and procurement readiness
  • Identifying integration risks and implement mitigation strategies across multiple workstreams
  • Contributing to architecture governance processes and cross‑program coordination

To be successful in this role you will have

  • Essential Security Clearance: You will be able to obtain and retain minimum Baseline Security clearance within six months to work with sensitive government and critical communications information
  • Strong experience in integration and interface architecture across complex ICT environments
  • Proven ability to map and manage system dependencies and integration points
  • Experience working in multi‑vendor ecosystem environments
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability across complex systems
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Nice to have

  • Experience with large‑scale infrastructure, telecommunications or operational systems
  • Familiarity with integration patterns, API design and system interoperability approaches
  • Experience in government or highly regulated environments
  • Exposure to enterprise architecture governance processes

A talent pool may be created from this recruitment action for future temporary or ongoing vacancies in roles with similar capability requirements.

This role may require additional enhanced security vetting.
