Banking & Finance Associate

About the firm and the role

Our client, a leading global law firm, is seeking a Banking & Finance Associate (1–3 PQE) to join its highly regarded Sydney practice. The team is recognised for its strength across a broad range of financing matters, including acquisition finance, leveraged finance, general banking, infrastructure/project finance, restructuring and refinancing transactions, and other complex domestic and cross-border financing arrangements. With a strong international platform and deep relationships across the financial markets, the practice regularly advises lenders, sponsors, corporates and investors on significant and sophisticated transactions.

As part of a collaborative and high-performing team, you will work closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers on complex transactions involving Australian and international clients, while continuing to develop your technical and commercial skills.

About you

• 1-3 years' post-qualification experience in banking and finance
• Experience gained at a reputable national or international law firm
• Exposure to general banking, acquisition finance, infrastructure/project finance, leveraged finance, restructuring, refinancing or broader financing transactions
• Strong drafting, analytical and transaction management skills
• Excellent academic credentials
• Commercially minded with strong attention to detail
• A collaborative approach and desire to work in a fast-paced, high-performing environment
