Financial Controller

A well-regarded ASX-listed mining operator is seeking a Financial Controller to lead its group reporting function. The company operates a portfolio of producing assets, carries a strong balance sheet and is actively pursuing growth - both organic and through acquisition. The role carries genuine breadth - statutory reporting, consolidations, ASX disclosures and team leadership across a multi-site portfolio.

The position reports directly to one of Perth’s most respected CFOs. Known as a developer of people and a genuine mentor, this is a leader with a strong reputation in the WA market and a track record of bringing talented finance professionals through.

Responsibilities:

• Leading statutory reporting, consolidations and ASX disclosures across a multi-site mining portfolio.
• Managing and developing a small, high-performing finance team.
• Strengthening financial controls, governance and compliance with accounting standards.
• Driving process improvement across high-quality systems and platforms.
• Providing technical accounting expertise to the CFO, finance leadership and operational decision-makers.
• Managing external audits and contributing to Board and Audit & Risk Committee reporting.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with a strong technical grounding in statutory reporting, consolidations and ASX-listed company requirements. They will have built their foundation in a Big 4 or top-tier accounting firm and subsequently gained commercial experience within the resources sector - bringing both technical rigour and a working understanding of how finance operates in a complex operational environment.

They will be comfortable in a multi-site environment, confident engaging stakeholders at all levels and genuinely improvement-focused in their approach to process and team capability.
