Software Engineer

On behalf of my clients who operate in the Australian Defence sector, I am currently looking for an experienced Software Engineer who holds and NV1 or above security clearance and would be willing to upgrade to an NV2.

The role is being offered as a long-term day rate contract and will be based on client's site in Edinburgh.

ROLE DUTIES INCLUD#

• Build sophisticated, high-performance user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks
• Create and enhance new and existing front-end and back-end software products and applications
• Develop user interfaces/ GUIs to compare data and provide graphical representations
• Provide interfaces to create rules to filter platforms/emitters based on operational relevance
• Automatically generate reports
• Ensure a strong grasp of responsive design, performance optimization, and emerging web standards
• Design and implement secure, scalable backend API's
• Apply design principles and UI/UX best practices to all projects
• Troubleshoot and debug issues across the full stack
• Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in full stack development

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

• NV1 or above clearance MANDATORY
• Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer
• Excellent understanding of web fundamentals, including responsive design, performance optimization, and emerging web standards
• Clear understanding of design principles and UI/UX best practices
• Strong software development skills and experience in front-end, back-end, and/or database systems
• Experience with server-side rendering and client-side rendering
• Previous exposure to Defence Systems Engineering processes and tools highly desirable
