Junior Engineer or Industrial Designer

Role: Graduate / Junior Mechanical Engineer or Industrial Designer
Location: Adelaide, On-site – 9 day fortnight
Australian Citizenship Required
The first job out of uni shapes everything. Make it one where you actually build things.
We're hiring up to three early-career engineers and designers for an Adelaide-based aerospace and defence company. You'll join a small, fast-moving team that designs and builds real hardware.
We're open on discipline: this could be mechanical engineers, industrial designers, or a mix. What matters more than the badge is that you love designing things and understand how they actually get made.
What you'll do
- Design, prototype and build - hands-on, across real projects from day one.
- Work in SOLIDWORKS and learn the discipline of designing for manufacture.
- Soak up everything from a senior team that builds. You'll learn more in your first six months here than you might in years elsewhere.
- Contribute to hardware that ends up on the platform.
What we're looking for
- A recent graduate, or up to ~2 years out, in mechanical engineering or industrial design.
- Or a fresh grad with genuine hands-on exposure - uni metal shop, composites, maker projects, anything where you've actually made something.
- Design ability paired with a real understanding of the manufacturing process - how a part goes from screen to physical object.
- SOLIDWORKS (or a strong willingness to get up to speed fast).
- A portfolio of your work. Especially if you're an industrial designer - a CV lists what you did, a portfolio shows us how you think.
Nice to have
- Exposure to metalwork, plastic injection moulding, or composites.
- Any practical making, fabricating or building experience - paid or not.
The essentials
- Australian citizenship is required for this role.
- Based in Adelaide, or willing to relocate.
- Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
If this sounds like the start you want, send your CV and if you have one, a portfolio of your work to ***email_hidden***, or apply here.
