Veterinary Laboratory Scientist

IDEXX, a global market leader in veterinary diagnostics is currently seeking a full-time Veterinary Laboratory Scientist for a 6-month contract to work within our multi-discipline laboratory in Rydalmere. The the usual hours of work will be between Monday-Friday, 10am to 6.00pm, with an occasional Saturday shift and night shift if you are interested (after training).

In this role

  • You will work as part of a collaborative and highly engaged team and contribute to the delivery of timely, effective, and efficient diagnostic pathology services.

  • As a member of a specialised team, you – as the successful hire, will ensure the provision of high-quality, efficient, effective, biochemistry, haematology, microbiology, histology, and parasitology testing.

  • You will ensure that IDEXX Reference Laboratories operate at the highest level of accuracy by performing, monitoring and acting upon quality control procedures – while monitoring, calibrating, and troubleshooting their performance, in compliance with NATA and ISO accreditation/certification requirements.

What you need to succeed

  • You’ve completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Science (or equivalent)

  • You will have strong PC & data entry skills

  • You will have demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to policies and practices.

  • You’re committed to delivering high-quality customer service.

  • You’re attention to detail and communication skills are strong.

  • You’re commitment to our IDEXX values, diligent attention to our Quality system and Health & Safety policies/procedures.

  • You will be experienced within a diagnostic laboratory setting – advantageous, but not essential

  • You’re experienced in operating efficiently and effectively to meet tight turnaround times in a commercial lab environment, preferred.
