Senior Operations Manager – Transport & Logistics Lead large-scale transport operations and drive operational excellence

An established and growing Australian transport and logistics organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead a high-performing operational team. This is a key leadership position responsible for the safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of linehaul, container logistics, and warehouse operations.

Reporting to the executive leadership team, you will oversee multiple operational functions, manage large teams, and drive continuous improvement across people, processes, and performance.

About The Role You Will Be Responsible For

• Leading day-to-day transport, linehaul, and warehouse operations
• Managing fleet utilisation, scheduling, and operational efficiency
• Driving safety, compliance, and operational excellence across all sites
• Leading and developing managers, supervisors, and operational teams
• Delivering strong financial performance through effective cost control and resource planning
• Building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Working closely with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure exceptional service delivery
• Identifying opportunities to improve systems, productivity, and scalability

About You You are an experienced operations leader with a proven background in large-scale transport and logistics environments.

You Will Bring

• Extensive senior leadership experience within transport, freight, logistics, or supply chain operations
• Strong knowledge of linehaul and/or container logistics
• Experience managing warehouse or distribution operations
• Demonstrated success leading large operational teams across multiple functions or sites
• Commercial acumen with experience managing budgets and operational KPIs
• A strong commitment to safety, compliance, and customer service
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
