Title: Traffic Officer, Permanent - Full-time Role, 35 hours per week

Salary Range: $85745.17 to $99650.39 per annum + super (subject to skills and experience)

Responsibilities

Transport and Civil Infrastructure is responsible for the provision, management and maintenance of urban infrastructure and the delivery of transport, traffic and urban infrastructure services. Transport and Civil Infrastructure has both internal and external clients and provides service across a range of functional areas including:

  • Traffic and Transport Network Management
  • Transport and Civil Infrastructure Asset Management
  • Parking Management
  • Construction and Maintenance of Civil Infrastructure
  • Engineering and Delivery of Capital Works
  • Plant, Fleet and Stores Management
  • Business Operations

Our Opportunity

The key focus areas of this role include:

  • Investigating and resolving minor traffic management and parking issues on Council’s Local Road Network
  • Assessing and approving permit applications for Traffic Control, Works Zone, Stand Plant and other permit applications related to use of the road reserve on Council’s roads
  • Preparing and issuing works instructions arising from recommendations of the Local Transport Forum
  • Preparing consultation proposals and Transport Forum reports arising from community engagement outcomes

About You

We’re looking for a young traffic engineer who has recently completed their degree and is wanting to get a start in a career in traffic engineering or someone who has relevant recent experience in a similar role to join our multi disciplinary team of traffic and transport planning professionals. You’ll have a positive outlook, be self motivated, have strong written and verbal communication skills and bring a customer focussed attitude to a team passionate about making a difference to our community.
