Project Director - Capital Works

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Project Director to play a key role in delivering and growing a portfolio of capital works projects across the mining and adjacent industries.

This is a newly created role within Ventia’s growing Resources business, offering the chance to contribute to both project delivery and the continued development of delivery capability and pipeline.

You’ll operate across a portfolio environment, where success will come from not only delivering projects, but also leaning in to help build the opportunity pipeline, strengthen delivery capability, and position the business for sustained growth.

This role could be based in Perth or Brisbane.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support the growth and development of a high-performing project team
• Support delivery across a portfolio of capital works projects, driving strong safety, cost, schedule and quality outcomes
• Play an active role in lifting capability and improving delivery consistency across projects
• Embed and evolve delivery standards, systems, and controls
• Contribute to governance, reporting, and project assurance activities
• Partner with stakeholders on planning, sequencing, delivery strategy, and future opportunities

Who We’re Looking For

• An experienced Project Director, or a Senior Project Manager ready to step into the role
• Motivated by the opportunity to shape, build and scale - not just deliver
• Background delivering mining capital works projects or adjacent infrastructure/industrial projects (>$50m projects; $200m+ portfolio)
• Strong grounding in safety leadership, project controls, and execution discipline
• A collaborative leader who can influence across a matrix environment
• Someone who naturally takes ownership beyond their remit - contributing to both delivery outcomes and growth opportunities
