Our aspiration is to be the leader in providing care, hope and advocacy for those facing disadvantage. Our purpose is to create opportunities and lasting change for the most marginalised. VincentCare is well equipped to provide a continuum of services that effectively meet the needs of people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
Little Bit About The Role
As the Senior AOD Clinician – STAR, you will provide therapeutic counselling, care and recovery coordination, and outreach support to adults and families impacted by alcohol and other drug use. Working across the Inner and Northern Community Hubs, you will support clients with complex needs to achieve their recovery goals through evidence-based, person-centred practice.
This is a varied and rewarding role that combines individual counselling, outreach case management, group facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration with internal and external service providers. You will also play a key role in supporting best practice, contributing to service improvements, and providing guidance on complex client matters.
About You
You are an experienced AOD practitioner with a passion for supporting people to achieve positive and lasting change. You bring strong therapeutic counselling and case management skills, along with the ability to engage and support individuals experiencing complex challenges.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience working in the AOD sector
- Experience delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions and recovery-focused support
- Strong understanding of complex presentations, including mental health, homelessness, family violence, and social disadvantage
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across services
- Confidence working autonomously, managing competing priorities, and responding to complex or high-risk situations
- A genuine commitment to social justice, client empowerment, and person-centred practice
- A current Victorian Driver Licence and willingness to undertake outreach work.
