About the Role

MTC has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and client-focused Employment Consultant to join our Employment Services team at Marrickville on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Employment Practitioner will be responsible for supporting individuals with disability, injury or health conditions to achieve meaningful and sustainable employment outcomes. The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Conducted in-depth participant appointments to assess circumstances, identify barriers and create tailored job plans.
  • Built strong rapport to evaluate capabilities and deliver personalised employment readiness support.
  • Maintained accurate records and ensured compliance with policies, procedures, and benchmarks.
  • Fostered employer relationships to source job opportunities and advocate inclusive hiring.
  • Collaborated with stakeholders including allied health, training providers, and community groups.
  • Performed risk assessments and implemented timely mitigation strategies.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience working with people with disability or lived experience.
  • Relevant qualifications in employment or disability services (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of IEA guidelines, compliance, and performance standards.
  • Proven leadership in employment services.
  • Skilled in analysis and problem-solving.
  • Confident in managing conflict and supporting challenging behaviours.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Culturally aware and experienced working with diverse communities.
  • Committed to inclusive employment and supporting people with disability.
  • Holds a valid driver’s licence. (preferred)
