Project Manager

Project Manager (Contract) – 3 Month Contract in Parramatta, Sydney | Immediate Start A well-established commercial builder is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the team on a 3-month contract to assist with the successful close-out of a major building project in Parramatta.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Project Manager with strong close-out experience who can step into a live project, lead the final stages of delivery, and drive the project through to completion.

The Role Reporting to senior management, you will take ownership of all project close-out activities, ensuring contractual obligations are met and the project is handed over successfully.

Key Responsibilities

Close-Out Documentation

• Collate and finalise all project close-out documentation including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties, certificates, and handover packs
• Ensure all contractual deliverables are completed and submitted in accordance with project requirements
• Coordinate documentation sign-off from subcontractors, consultants, and the client

Defect Management

• Compile, manage, and drive resolution of all defect items prior to Practical Completion
• Coordinate subcontractors and site teams to ensure defects are rectified within programme
• Provide regular defect status reporting to internal and external stakeholders

Public Domain Works / Section 73

• Oversee the completion and sign-off of all public domain works including footpaths, kerb and gutter, landscaping, streetscape elements, and Section 73 requirements
• Liaise with Council and relevant authorities to secure approvals and compliance sign-offs
• Ensure all public domain works meet statutory and council requirements

Site Leadership

• Provide leadership and direction to the site team during the final phase of the project
• Act as the primary client contact throughout project close-out
• Chair close-out meetings and maintain programme to achieve project completion targets

About You To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering Australian construction projects
• Demonstrated experience managing project close-out and handover processes
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, contract administration, and compliance requirements
• Experience managing defect lists and public domain/civil interface works
• Ability to lead site teams and subcontractors with minimal handover
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and reporting skills
• Relevant qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Sydney-based and available to commence immediately
