eReferrals Project Officer - Health Information Services

  • 12-month Fixed-Term, Part-Time position - 48 hours per fortnight.
  • 3-days per week (0.6 EFT) until Feb 2027, then 1-day per week (0.2 EFT) until June 2027.
  • $52,836 to $58,409 (pro-rata) base + salary packaging + super + 5-weeks annual leave

About the role

The RMH is leading a project on behalf of the Parkville precinct hospitals (The RMH, the RCH, the Women’s and Peter Mac) to implement an electronic referral system to digitise and improve referrals into Specialist outpatient clinics at each hospital.

We are looking for an experienced project officer with a good understanding of health systems to join the team and work closely the 4 hospitals to deliver the new eReferral system.

Reporting to the Chief Health Information Manager, the eReferrals Project Officer will support the delivery of the project by coordinating activities, monitoring progress, preparing documentation, and assisting in engaging stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.

The Project Officer will work collaboratively with the other Parkville Health Services and the Parkville EMR teams to scope and plan the implementation of the electronic referral solution.

Grade 4 (HS4) $52,836.38 - Grade 4 (HS29) $58,409.68 per annum + salary packaging + super + 5-week’s annual leave - Full-time equivalent to be pro-rated for part-time.

  • Well-developed skills and experience of project coordination/management, organisational and planning skills, with an ability to self-motivate, work independently and as part of a team.
  • Well-developed strategic thinking, problem-solving and ability to identify opportunities, plan, execute and review in a way which delivers on strategic outcomes and increases impact.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage time well.
  • Excellent communication skills including well-developed writing skills and an ability to promptly prepare relevant documentation, presentations and reports on project status, outcomes, and impact.
  • High level of computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office 360.
  • Ability to determine workload priorities, stay motivated, coordinate multiple priorities and work to timelines as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the Victorian healthcare system.
