The heart of the role
At Laundy Hotels, our people are our greatest legacy. Reporting to the Head of HR and Payroll, we’re looking for a seasoned, people-first HR Business Partner who thrives at the intersection of high-performance culture and genuine care. This is a role for someone who doesn’t just "do HR" from a desk but chooses to partner with, challenge, and champion our leaders across a dynamic, multi-site portfolio.
How You'll Show Up
The Partner
- Guide Leaders: Partner with venue managers on performance, conduct, and disciplinary matters
- Expert Advice: Act as the go-to for HIGA interpretation, Fair Work compliance, and employee relations
- Problem Solver: Navigate people matters and grievances
The Compliance Guardian
- Visa & Sponsorship: Lead end-to-end visa administration
- The Employee Lifecycle: Own the "joiner to leaver" journey, from drafting contracts and onboarding to offboarding
- Safety & Systems: Manage HRIS data, personnel records, and WHS/Workers Compensation tracking to keep our business compliant and our teams safe
The Builder
- Talent Support: Assist with recruitment, from crafting compelling job ads to ensuring a premium candidate experience
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to group-wide HR projects, policy updates, and communication initiatives that strengthen the Laundy culture
What you bring to the table
- 3+ years’ experience in an HR Business Partner or similar role
- Hospitality experience with HIGA knowledge (highly desirable)
- Strong working knowledge of Fair Work legislation
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Psychology or a related discipline
- Experience managing employee relations cases and documentation
- Experience with visa and sponsorship compliance
