About the role:
- Guide and support the Fire Safety and Security Service team, ensuring a safe and secure environment for everyone across Rockhampton Hospital and surrounding facilities through strong frontline leadership and coordination.
- Take the lead in shaping high-quality service standards by overseeing patrols, auditing reports, reviewing incidents, and using data insights to identify trends and drive continuous improvements in safety and security practices.
- Be at the heart of operations by managing rostering, performance development, and day-to-day workforce coordination, while ensuring compliance with policies and delivering efficient, responsive services across the board.
- Work closely with internal teams and external emergency services, responding to real-time incidents, emergency codes, and critical situations, making a genuine impact on the safety and wellbeing of patients, staff, and visitors.
About you:
- You bring strong leadership capability with a passion for guiding teams in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. While not mandatory, qualifications in leadership, management, or security are highly desirable for this position.
- You bring a solid understanding of relevant standards, policies, legislation, and regulations for Fire Safety and Security Services in healthcare settings, confidently applying them to maintain high compliance, quality, and professionalism in a dynamic 24/7 environment.
- You are a confident communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills, able to consult, collaborate, and objectively assess complex or sensitive incidents, including those involving occupational violence, while maintaining professionalism and fairness.
- You're comfortable with computers, mobile devices, and operational systems, quickly adapting to shifting priorities and using technology to support seamless reporting, coordination, and effective decision-making.
Total remuneration value of up to $106,744 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $42.85 - $47.18 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
