Category Specialist - Materials

Seeking a Category Specialist - Materials to join our client’s Commercial team on a 6‑month contract. This role is ideal for a capable category specialist who can step in quickly and support a straightforward materials portfolio.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, you’ll manage and improve commercial outcomes across a portfolio of materials (and related goods/services) contracts—supporting value delivery, supplier performance, contract compliance and consistent application of contract management practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of materials contracts to optimise value, cost, risk, safety, quality, and compliance outcomes.
• Support supplier performance management and ongoing relationship management.
• Assist with negotiations, renewals, variations, and general contract administration across the lifecycle.
• Maintain contract/category performance data and reporting in relevant procurement/contract systems.
• Provide practical, day-to-day support to stakeholders to ensure contract adherence and governance.

Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated experience in category and/or contract management (materials experience, well regarded).
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and confidence progressing matters end-to-end.
• Strong communication, influencing and problem-solving skills.
• Practical understanding of commercial governance, risk, and compliance in a procurement/contract environment.
• Ability to start quickly and operate in a delivery-focused role.

Casual Loading

Please note for all Australian based contract and temporary roles only, the pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading. This excludes permanent and fixed term roles.
