Lead Civil Engineer
Binnies, an RSK Group company, is an engineering and environmental consultancy that helps clients across the globe efficiently and effectively collect, store, move and treat water and wastewater, plan and manage watersheds and harness the energy embedded in the treatment and movement of water. With more than a 100-year heritage and over 1500 staff, Binnies has recently expanded its business into the Australian market by opening an office in Brisbane. The business is poised to expand rapidly and is currently looking for self-driven individuals to help grow and develop the business here in Australia.
About The Role
As a Lead Civil Engineer at Binnies you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the successful execution of multiple civil infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for preparing complex engineering deliverables, managing data collection, and ensuring that projects are completed within budget, on schedule, and meet quality requirements. In addition, you will build, lead and mentor a team of intermediate and junior civil engineers, fostering their professional development.
The primary responsibilities include
- Manage budgets, schedules, and quality requirements for assigned projects
- Review engineering work and assignments to ensure adherence to industry standards and project specifications
- Facilitate technical communication with clients and project managers to ensure a clear understanding of project requirements and objectives
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate engineering solutions seamlessly into project workflows
- Work in partnership with Binnies teams around the globe, fostering the power of over 1400 staff focused on water and the environment
- Contribute to business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, participating in client presentations, and collaborating with the business development team. Leverage your technical expertise to support the growth of the company and the acquisition of new projects
About You
- RPEQ, CPEng, or the ability to secure this is essential
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience in successfully leading and managing civil engineering in the water, wastewater, natural resources or energy sectors
- Strong technical proficiency in civil engineering principles and software applications
- Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control
- Effective leadership and mentoring abilities to build and develop a high-performing engineering team
