Why this role matters
As a Senior System Administrator, you’ll play a key role in supporting and optimising NGM Group’s core technology platforms, ensuring they remain secure, stable and high performing in a 24x7 environment.
Working across a mix of on‑prem infrastructure and cloud technologies, you’ll contribute to our IT strategy, helping deliver reliable, compliant and scalable systems that support both our customers and our people.
What will your key responsibilities include?
- Own and support critical systems, platforms and infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments
- Lead incident, fault and problem resolution across complex, interconnected systems
- Manage service, incident and change requests, ensuring outcomes are delivered within agreed service levels
- Take ownership of system lifecycle management, including performance, monitoring and capacity planning
- Act as a subject matter expert across audits, design discussions and technology initiatives
- Contribute to platform modernisation, including cloud uplift, legacy system consolidation and infrastructure changes
- Work closely with development, cloud, cyber and architecture teams to deliver integrated and secure solutions
- Mentor and support System Administrators, driving consistency, capability and improved ways of working
What are we looking for?
- 5+ years’ experience in a senior or Level 2/3 systems administration role in a large environment
- Strong experience across Windows Server, Active Directory and Linux/UNIX systems
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure) and virtualised environments
- Exposure to storage, backup, recovery and database platforms (SQL or similar)
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues and lead incident and problem resolution
- Experience working across audits, system design and change management processes
- Strong collaboration skills, with experience working across development, cloud, cyber and infrastructure teams
- Excellent stakeholder communication and a collaborative, team-focused approach
- Demonstrated ability to mentor others and contribute to continuous improvement
