IT Test Analyst

NGM Group

  • Be hands-on with modern automation tools
  • Work in an automation-first, collaborative delivery environment
  • Hybrid work environment – Newcastle CBD head office and WFH 2 days per week.

Purpose of the role

As an IT Test Analyst, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, reliable technology outcomes across both BAU and project initiatives.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll actively design, execute, and improve testing practices across functional, integration, and performance testing — with a strong focus on automation and continuous improvement.

You’ll work closely with developers, BAs, and business stakeholders to embed quality early, identify risks, and ensure solutions are fit for purpose. If you enjoy solving problems, working across teams, and continuously improving how testing is done — this is an opportunity to make a real impact.

What will your key responsibilities include?

  • Design, build and execute test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts to improve coverage, efficiency, and quality
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, end-to-end and performance testing across environments
  • Develop and execute performance tests to identify bottlenecks and support system scalability
  • Contribute to an automation-first approach, using tools such as Playwright, k6 or JMeter
  • Leverage AI tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot) to improve test design, scripting speed and overall productivity
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to identify defects, manage test data, and ensure smooth releases
  • Support UAT and partner with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business needs
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing ideas, improving processes and uplifting testing practices

What are we looking for?

  • 5+ years’ hands-on experience in automation with Playwright, WebdriverIO, Appium or similar.
  • Experience in JavaScript/TypeScript and experience automating REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Proficient in test management tools like Zephyr and ALM and experience in DevOps and CI/CD pipelines tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with strong communication skills (written and verbal) to work with multiple teams.
  • Self-motivated and have a growth mindset, with the ability to generate new and innovative ideas.
  • Comfortable working in Agile environments (with occasional waterfall projects).
  • Curious, proactive, resilient and passionate about continuous improvement and coaching others.
  • Experience with Azure cloud environments and cloud-based testing platforms (e.g., BrowserStack). (Desirable)
