The Role
In this varied role, you will promote Greater Bendigo as a major regional growth centre with opportunities for employment and business development and work with relevant stakeholders to provide an active program of assistance to local businesses of all sizes. Working directly with local businesses, you will provide them with relevant information to assist them in establishing a new business or making changes to an existing business. You will also undertake research, develop, and implement a range of initiatives to support local businesses.
The responsibilities of the Economic Growth Project Officer will include:
- Identify, advocate and support investment opportunities by understanding and liaising with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Actively involved in investment attraction and investment facilitation for City of Greater Bendigo
- Developing and maintaining relationships and networks with business, and industry groups.
- Support Economic Development unit, through strategic directive and implementation.
- Support a portfolio of stakeholders through promoting, delivering, and managing a range of development initiatives for industry and businesses within the region.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Project Coordination: Experience producing project plans where objectives are clearly defined; experience communicating with and supporting project team members, ensuring project objectives are met.
- Stakeholder Management: Builds network to add value for the organisation and stakeholders; links people with other areas of council (as appropriate), constructively deals with stakeholder issues.
- Problem Solving: Seeks all relevant information for problem-solving; investigates and probes for the facts; liaises with stakeholders; analyses issues from different perspectives and draws sound inferences from information available; identifies and proposes workable solutions to problems.
This role requires a satisfactory police records check and employee Working with Children Check.
