About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Solution Designer to join a high-performing enterprise team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end solution design for complex, large-scale projects within a major tier-1 financial services environment.
You will bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution, designing robust, scalable, and secure real-time integration and data solutions around our core platforms.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Design: Lead the scoping, architectural alignment, and end-to-end solution design for large-scale enterprise initiatives.
API-Led Architecture: Define and implement API-led architectures across multiple tiers (Experience, Capability, and Information APIs).
Integration Patterns: Develop modern integration patterns using API Gateways, Service Mesh, ESB/Middleware platforms, and Event-Driven Architectures (Kafka, messaging queues) to connect modern digital channels to legacy backend systems.
Governance & Standards: Design high-quality RESTful APIs ensuring strict adherence to enterprise governance standards (Swagger/OpenAPI, naming conventions, and lifecycle management).
Stakeholder Leadership: Lead technical solution discussions, conduct design walkthroughs, and collaborate closely with engineering teams and business stakeholders.
Documentation: Produce comprehensive, high-quality Detailed Solution Design (DSD) documentation.
Skills & Experience Required
Core Card Systems Expertise: Strong knowledge and hands-on solution design experience with VisionPLUS (or similar major Core Banking / Card Management platforms such as TSYS, Hogan, or Base24).
Tier-1 Banking Experience: Proven track record working as a Solution Designer within a major Australian bank or tier-1 financial institution.
Enterprise Data Platforms: Familiarity with enterprise data platforms, Data Mesh, or modern cloud data architectures.
Advanced Integration Skills: Deep expertise in real-time integration, asynchronous messaging, API gateways, and event-driven architectures (Kafka).
Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
