Literary Agent or Artist Manager
Aurora Artists' Management
We have a rare opportunity for an Associate Literary Agent and an Artist Manager to join our team. We are looking for someone at either an agent or associate level and an impressive assistant who is ready to step up. The experience from the right individual will shape what the role becomes. There is abundant potential for development and expansion in the role.
About you
Ideally, you have at least four to five years working in a literary or talent agency, theatre company, performing arts organisation, or closely related industry environment. You're comfortable with managing artist agreements, intellectual property, and deal-making, and you've worked directly with artists and creative professionals. A passion for the performing arts, film, television and literature is a must.
Who you are
- You read. You watch. You care about quality.
- You enjoy an industry-facing role, and seeing theatre, film, attending openings, and industry events.
- Bachelor of Arts (Theatre, Literature, Screen or similar), or equivalent experience is highly regarded but not essential. Some legal training would also be a strong advantage.
In addition, you need to be
- A strong communicator, clear, thoughtful, tactful and calm
- Someone people enjoy being around (this matters more than you think)
- Confident and able to hold your ground with clients and producers
- A great team player who is always willing to jump in and help
- Organised, reliable, and consistent in how you show up
- High level English language writing, comprehension, and communication skills
- A passion and knowledge of the film, television and theatre industry
- Experience in the arts sector
- High level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent computer skills including fast touch-typing
- Discretion and outstanding attention to detail
- Outstanding administration skills
- The ability to work with urgency, multi-task, plan and prioritise, and work to deadlines
- Developed research skills and an enthusiasm to expand skill base
- A ‘Can Do’ attitude to take on any tasks to support the team
- The ability to work independently and show initiative.
Most importantly, you want to be an Agent, not the talent.
