Your New Role
The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful planning, delivery and implementation of the HRIS project (
Dayforce) across the organisation. This role oversees project governance, stakeholder engagement, schedule, budget, risks and vendor engagement to ensure the implementation meets business objectives.
The Senior IT Project Manager will work closely with P&C, Payroll, IT, vendor consultants and business stakeholders to deliver a high-quality solution that supports the realisation of defined business benefits.
You’ll report to a manager with more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry, specialising in project delivery and program management. Under her leadership, you’ll gain exposure to policy and process development, change management principles, and established project delivery frameworks. She is a collaborative and people‑focused leader who empowers her team to work autonomously while ensuring they feel supported, connected, and set up for success.
This role is a 12-month fixed-term hybrid opportunity, with a mix of working at our head office in Melbourne CBD and working from home - we work flexibly at Development Victoria.
Core Accountabilities
- Accountable for the end-to-end delivery of the Dayforce HRIS implementation through execution of the project phases, ensuring project remains on schedule, within budget and to agreed scope.
- Provide leadership for project team (Business Analyst, Change Manager and project SMEs) by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
- Develop and maintain artefacts including project plans, schedule, resource plan and RAID log.
- Monitor and report on project progress and performance through project governance structure, providing status reporting to the Steering Committee regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues.
- Manage the day-to-day project activities and resource allocations for capacity planning and prioritisation.
- Develop and manage all aspects of project engagement from comprehensive planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues.
- Understand interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal senior stakeholders, vendors, project team and executive sponsors.
- Facilitation of project meetings and decision-making forums
- Manage vendor performance and ensure contractual obligations and deliverables are adhered to meeting agreed acceptance criteria.
- Ensure solution quality, compliance and business readiness prior to go live.
- Support organisational change management activities for successful adoption of solution.

About You
Desired Skills and Experience
You are a great communicator and have experience with Dayforce or a background in HR/payroll implementation. You can adhere to timelines to stay on track and ensure a smooth transition to the new HRIS system.
You’ll be part of a mid-size team, working directly with up to 10 people at any given time.
You bring experience in vendor management, ensuring communication is clear and goals are met in a timely manner. You can bring the internal team together to work effectively as one project. You can present confidently to a variety of stakeholders, both internally and externally.
