Role - Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Controller to support project and program delivery through effective planning, scheduling, reporting, governance, and coordination activities. Working within a project management office environment, you will assist in maintaining project controls, monitoring performance, supporting implementation planning, and contributing to continuous improvement of project management frameworks and tools.
Employment Type and Duration: 12-month contract + extensions
Work Model: Hybrid
Location: Brisbane CBD
Key Responsibilities
- Support implementation planning activities, including coordination of deliverables, timelines, and dependencies
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules and work breakdown structures (WBS)
- Track project performance against baselines and identify schedule variances and risks
- Prepare project status reports, dashboards, and performance updates
- Support project governance activities, including meetings, minutes, actions, and reporting
- Maintain project management templates, tools, and artefacts within the PMO framework
- Assist with procurement activities and contract administration in line with government policies and best practice
- Contribute to continuous improvement of project controls, scheduling, and reporting processes
Required Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience in project coordination, project controls, scheduling, or program support roles
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and reporting practices
- Experience developing and maintaining project schedules using Microsoft Project or similar tools
- Understanding of RAID management (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies)
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management concepts, including Planned Value, CPI, and SPI
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and organisational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Teams
- Experience with procurement processes and contract administration
- Exposure to ICT, software, digital services, or technology procurement environments will be highly regarded
- Experience within Queensland Government or other public sector environments is highly desirable
Qualifications & Clearance
- Qualification in Project Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related discipline (desirable)
- Demonstrated understanding of project governance and delivery frameworks
- Queensland Government procurement experience highly regarded
