Senior M365 Cloud Technical Specialist
Initial 12 Month Contract

We are currently seeking a Senior M365 Cloud Technical Specialist for a large Queensland-based organisation. This role is suited to an experienced Microsoft 365 specialist with strong hands-on experience across M365 administration, Azure/Entra ID, security, compliance and automation.
About the role
You will be responsible for supporting, managing and improving an enterprise Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Entra ID and related cloud services. This role will suit someone who can act as a senior technical specialist across the M365 platform and contribute to ongoing uplift across security, governance, performance and service delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Administer, support and improve the Microsoft 365 environment
- Manage M365 tenant configuration, licensing, governance and security settings
- Support core M365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams and OneDrive
- Manage identity and access controls across Entra ID / Azure AD, MFA, conditional access and privileged identity management
- Support Microsoft Purview, DLP, retention policies, eDiscovery and compliance tools
- Drive automation and service improvement using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph and related M365 tools
- Support hybrid identity environments, including Azure AD Connect
- Work with support, security, infrastructure and business teams to resolve platform issues and improve service delivery
- Provide technical advice and act as an escalation point for M365-related matters
Key skills
- Strong experience administering enterprise Microsoft 365 environments
- Hands-on experience with Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams and OneDrive
- Strong knowledge of Entra ID / Azure AD, Active Directory and hybrid identity
- Experience with M365 security, compliance, governance and tenant configuration
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills
- Experience with Microsoft Graph or related M365 automation tools
- Understanding of ITIL and service management practices
- Confident communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proactive approach to problem solving, service improvement and platform uplift
- Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, SC-300 or AZ-104 are highly regarded
- Government or public sector experience is desirable but not essential
