MUFG Pension & Market Services is Australia’s leading superannuation administrator — partnering with some of the largest and most recognisable funds in the country. In this role, you’ll lead an established Telephone Advice team, influence advice quality and service delivery outcomes, and play a key role in developing adviser capability within a highly regulated, purpose‑driven environment.
Overview
As an Advice Team Leader, you will be accountable for leading and developing a team of advisers to deliver high‑quality, compliant advice to members of our partner superannuation funds. With a strong focus on people development and SLA ownership, you’ll drive productivity, advice quality and workflow outcomes, while supporting the Telephone Advice Manager in stakeholder engagement, projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop a team of advisers, with a strong focus on capability uplift, engagement and performance
- Own team productivity, workflow management and SOA turnaround performance against agreed SLAs
- Provide hands‑on coaching and feedback to improve advice quality, compliance and conversion outcomes
- Supervise diary management and resourcing to maximise weekly adviser productivity
- Build and maintain strong internal referral partnerships, including reporting and monthly stakeholder engagement
- Support onboarding of new advisers and contribute to quarterly PD day delivery
- Assist the Telephone Advice Manager with key projects, change initiatives and process improvements
- Participate in call monitoring, compliance activity and the management of escalations or complaints
About you
You are an experienced superannuation advice professional who enjoys developing people and lifting team performance in a structured, metrics‑driven environment.
You bring:
- Proven people‑leadership experience within financial advice, ideally phone or intra‑fund advice
- Strong coaching capability with a track record of performance uplift
- Sound understanding of superannuation, advice compliance and AFSL obligations
- Confidence managing SLAs, workflow volumes and competing priorities
- High emotional intelligence, clear communication and the ability to influence without authority
- Strong organisational, analytical and time‑management skills
Qualifications & technical experience
- RG146 compliant (Advanced Diploma of Financial Services – Financial Planning or equivalent)
- Progression toward, or completion of, FASEA education requirements
- ASIC Financial Adviser Register (FAR) registration
- Proficient experience with Xplan and Aaspire
- Tertiary qualification in financial planning, finance, business, economics or accounting (favourable)
