Key Responsibilities

ECA College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Course Coordinator & Trainer and Assessor to deliver face-to-face training and assessment for the Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) qualification at the Melbourne campus. The successful candidate will also undertake coordination responsibilities across assigned campuses to support student progression, trainer performance, academic quality, compliance requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This full-time position involves facilitating engaging and practical classes, conducting assessment and marking activities, and undertaking academic and administrative responsibilities during non-training hours. The role requires active on-campus participation and a strong understanding of competency-based training within the Vocational Education and Training (VET) framework.

Coordinator Responsibilities

  • Monitor training delivery quality and trainer engagement across assigned campuses
  • Support student academic progression by developing intervention strategies, providing progression support plans, conducting one-on-one support sessions, monitoring assessment completion and class participation
  • Liaise with trainers and assessors to ensure training and assessment resources remain current, industry-relevant, and compliant
  • Provide ongoing student support to improve learning outcomes, competency completion, and retention rates
  • Monitor and report student progression outcomes to the Academic Manager and Student Services teams
  • Coordinate and schedule professional development (PD) sessions for the training team to maintain trainer competency and industry currency
  • Monitor students’ participation through attendance forms and student management systems
  • Review, map, and recommend updates to training and assessment resources in consultation with Academic and LMS teams
  • Participate in post-validation activities and continuous improvement initiatives each term
  • Support the Academic Manager with academic operations, practical administrative tasks, and compliance-related academic activities
  • Demonstrate competency in using Student Management Systems (RTO Manager) and Learning Management Systems (OpenLearning)
  • Schedule and actively participate in student orientations, staff meetings, compliance activities, and team training sessions

Trainer And Assessor Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate understanding of Competency-Based Training and Assessment and Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)
  • Deliver face-to-face training and assessment for Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) units
  • Facilitate engaging, practical, and industry-relevant classroom sessions aligned with training package requirements and learner needs
  • Conduct assessment marking within required timeframes and ensure assessment practices comply with principles of assessment and rules of evidence
  • Support students in achieving competency and meeting assessment deadlines
  • Maintain accurate academic records, attendance records, and assessment documentation.
  • Participate in moderation, validation, and continuous improvement activities
  • Maintain professional and current industry knowledge relevant to management and leadership training

Essential Requirements

  • TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent/superseded qualification meeting current regulatory requirements)
  • Relevant higher education qualification – including a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and other relevant qualifications in Management, Leadership, Business, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering training and assessment within the Australian VET sector.
  • Experience facilitating face-to-face classes for international students
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and administrative responsibilities
  • High level of organisational and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an academic team environment

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience coordinating trainers and academic operations across multiple campuses
  • Industry experience in leadership, management, project management, or organisational learning
  • Experience with CRICOS and compliance requirements for international students
  • Knowledge of training package mapping and resource development
  • Experience participating in audits, validations, and compliance reviews
