Brisbane Private Hospital is seeking dynamic Medical Administrators to join our Front Office Administration team on a part time and casual basis. The successful applicants will be highly motivated, committed to a high standard of customer focused care, excellent time management and organisational skills. About the roles

  • This opportunity will see you join our team as an all-rounder to assist with various administration processed where required, your duties will vary day to day and may include:

  • Maintain accurate and effective record management systems including preparation of medical records
  • Communicating with patients to finalise pre-admission data, including financial and health fund checks
  • Conduct Admissions and collect payments. This may include early starts and a busy but organised and empathetic process where attention to detail and clear communication is important
  • Coordinate with staff from other departments, including Doctor’s Rooms
  • Working collaboratively within your team and across teams to deliver timely results
  • Complete other clerical tasks such as data entry
  • Answer and respond to or redirect calls

Set at the top of Wickham Terrace, Brisbane’s busiest medical precinct, above the Roma Street Parklands in the heart of the CBD, Brisbane Private Hospital is an acute and rehabilitation hospital with 181 beds, 17 operating theatres and dedicated surgical, ICU and rehabilitation wards. Brisbane Private Hospital specialises in Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, Spinal, ENT, Pain and Rehabilitation with additional specialties including Plastics, Urology, General Surgery and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Brisbane Private Hospital also delivers a leading private drug and alcohol program, Damascus Health Services, from its dedicated drug and alcohol rehabilitation unit.

Essential Criteria

  • Previous medical reception/administration experience
  • Prior experience in the health industry
  • Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including phone skills
  • Excellent Customer service skills
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts – early/late shifts
  • Experience working with patient management system (Desirable)
