Introduction

We are seeking an experienced F5 DNS Resident Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of advanced DNS solutions. This role focuses on Authoritative DNS, Recursive DNS, and Cache Server architectures, integrating features such as DNS64 and DNSSEC. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in F5 platforms and the ability to architect secure, scalable, and highly available DNS infrastructures.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design end to end F5 DNS solutions (Authoritative, Recursive, Cache).
• Integrate advanced features (DNS64, DNSSEC) for IPv6/IPv4 interoperability.
• Define DNS architecture roadmaps aligned with business needs.
• Design DNS security solutions to mitigate DDoS attacks and ensure compliance.
• Document design patterns and provide technical leadership.
• Implement GSLB, Anycast DNS, and CDN solutions.
• Collaborate with network/security teams for seamless integration.
• Optimize DNS performance and reduce latency.
• Oversee DNS lifecycle management from planning to continuous improvement.
• Partner with leadership to align DNS strategy with organizational goals.
• Mentor engineering teams and junior architects.
• Ensure disaster recovery, fault tolerance, and high availability.
• Contribute to automation frameworks (Ansible, Terraform, Python).
• Stay current with DNS technologies and industry trends.

Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience with F5 DNS solutions (Authoritative, Recursive, Cache).
• Strong knowledge of DNS64, DNSSEC, Anycast DNS, and GSLB.
• Proven record architecting secure, large scale DNS infrastructures.
• Hands on expertise with F5 BIG IP DNS (GTM, LTM).
• Deep understanding of IPv6/IPv4 transition mechanisms.
• DNS security best practices, including DDoS mitigation.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong networking protocol knowledge (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS).
• Automation experience with Ansible, Terraform, Python.
• Proficiency in monitoring, analytics, and performance tuning.
• Ability to work cross functionally with engineering, security, and operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• F5 Certified Technology Specialist (F5 CTS) or Architect (F5 CA).
• Experience with multi cloud and hybrid DNS architectures.
• Background in DDoS mitigation and advanced DNS security.
• Knowledge of CDN and distributed network architectures.
• Familiarity with DNS analytics and query monitoring.
• Experience leading complex DNS migration projects.
