Senior Security Architect

Summary

North Star Partners are helping one of Australia major energy providers hiring their next OT Security Architect. This role is about protecting one of Australia’s main energy grids.

The systems you’ll help secure support critical energy infrastructure used by communities, businesses, hospitals, transport, industry, and everyday Australians. The work matters because reliability, resilience, and safety matter.

The company

This is with a major Australian critical infrastructure organisation operating in the energy sector.

The environment is complex, highly regulated, and operationally critical. Cyber security here is not theoretical. It has a direct connection to the safe and reliable delivery of essential services.

The opportunity

This is a senior-level OT security architecture role for someone who wants to work on infrastructure that genuinely matters.

Reporting directly to the CISO, you’ll help shape secure architecture across OT environments that support the Australian grid, working closely with cyber security, engineering, operations, vendors, and senior stakeholders.

This could suit a Senior Architect, adaptable, resilient and with a strong problem solving attitude. Experience in OT environments is critical.

What you will do

You’ll help protect and strengthen critical OT environments across energy infrastructure.

The role will involve:

• Shaping secure architecture for OT, ICS, SCADA, control systems, and industrial networks
• Reviewing designs and guiding secure delivery across major technology and infrastructure projects
• Supporting cyber risk decisions in complex operational environments
• Helping improve resilience, segmentation, remote access, monitoring, and security controls
• Translating cyber security requirements into practical outcomes for engineering and operations teams
• Working with stakeholders who care deeply about safety, uptime, reliability, and national infrastructure

What I’m looking for

I’m keen to speak with people who have experience across some of the following:

• OT / Operational Technology
• ICS / SCADA
• Industrial networks
• Energy, utilities, transport, water, mining, manufacturing, or industrial sectors
• IEC 62443, NIST 800-82, Purdue Model, or similar OT security frameworks

You’ll need to be technically credible, calm under pressure, pragmatic, and comfortable working with both cyber and engineering teams.

This role is for someone who understands that in OT security, the goal is not just to design elegant architecture. It is to help keep essential infrastructure safe, resilient, and available.
