About The Position
We are seeking experienced Procurement Specialist for a Perth based role working a Monday to Friday roster. Working with the Lead Principal on the strategy and delivery of a national sourcing program, you will own the day-to-day direction and momentum of the program. This program represents a significant savings opportunity and requires a commercially minded, highly skilled communicator who can cut through ambiguity, build alignment, and drive timely decisions and action across a diverse stakeholder group to deliver sustainable value.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Develop and implement category strategies that identify, structure, and execute opportunities to drive commercial value while managing supply risk and delivering on safety and operational requirements.
- Reduce total cost of ownership by making informed risk trade-offs over the medium term and executing these through the sourcing cycle.
- Deliver value through factbased insights, strong analytics, contract expertise, and targeted strategic actions.
- Lead endtoend procurement activities, including requirements definition, baseline development, sourcing, negotiation, savings validation, contract execution, and contract management.
- Engage and influence stakeholders across Operations, ER, HSE, Procurement, Finance, and Legal to align priorities and deliver outcomes.
- Maintain awareness of external trends, including market dynamics, the IR landscape, innovation, and emerging risks.
- Challenge existing ways of working and facilitate decisions in complex, ambiguous, and competing priority environments.
- Communicate strategies clearly and effectively to all stakeholder levels, from senior leadership to frontline operations.
Skills And Experience
- Strong commercial acumen and proven negotiation experience
- Sound project management, problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to cut through complex data to provide clear recommendations and facilitate decisions
- Confidence to challenge established thinking and create process improvements, including developing frameworks and guidelines to ways of working
- Collaborative mindset to build alignment across functions and senior leaders
- Comfortable operating in fast paced settings with a continuous improvement mindset
