About The Role

The Data Engineer is a hands-on role reporting to the Data Analytics Manager, responsible for designing and delivering end-to-end data pipelines across the modern data stack that support analytics and reporting. Working from ingestion through to Power BI, the role partners with global stakeholders to translate business requirements into reliable, well-structured data products.

The role also drives efficiency by leveraging AI tools such as Relevance AI and Anthropic Claude to accelerate development, documentation, and troubleshooting across the data stack.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain ingestion pipelines using Fivetran and Snowflake-native loaders to integrate data from Oracle, SaaS platforms, and external marketplaces into the warehouse
  • Develop Coalesce.io transformation workflows to model raw data into reliable, performant, and well-documented dimensional layers
  • Implement data quality controls with Coalesce.io Quality and orchestration to detect schema drift, freshness issues, and anomalies
  • Manage Snowflake objects (tables, views, schemas, shares), optimising performance while adhering to RBAC and cost-management practices
  • Create and maintain Power BI dashboards, semantic models, and DAX measures, enabling self-service analytics and delivering key dashboards.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions
  • Leverage Relevance AI and Anthropic Claude (API & MCP) to accelerate development, documentation, and troubleshooting
  • Develop lightweight Streamlit apps and Python utilities to improve access to data assets

About You

  • 2+ years’ experience in data, analytics, or BI engineering, delivering production data pipelines
  • Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred)
  • Experience with ingestion tools (Fivetran or similar) and transformation tools (Coalesce.io, dbt, etc.)
  • Proven Power BI expertise, including semantic modelling, DAX, and dashboard/report development
  • Working knowledge of Python (scripting, APIs, data validation, automation)
  • Ability to translate non-technical business requirements into data products and reporting solutions
  • Familiarity with AI/LLMs (prompt engineering, basic agent or RAG patterns)
  • Strong communication skills across technical and business stakeholders

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience with REST APIs and MCP, ERP systems (Oracle/JDE), Snowflake Streamlit/data apps, and cloud data governance, plus exposure to retail/consumer industries or contributions to data/AI projects
