Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled VMware / OpenShift Platform Engineer to design, build and support enterprise grade virtualisation and container platforms. The role focuses on ensuring high availability, automation, scalability, performance tuning and lifecycle management across on prem and hybrid cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• NOCR new platforms( VMware, OpenShift, Backup and storage ) and handover to operations
• Onboarding platform to security controls ( Nessus, Pentest and Prisma)
• Remediate and fix vulnerabilities
• Onboarding assets to TPAM/Safeguard platform for privilege access accounts
• Tenant and host migrations planning
• Onboarding new tenants to the VMware /OpenShift platform
• Performance optimization and capacity planning
• LDAP/AD integration and UAM onboarding
• Manage VMware vSphere infrastructure
• Building new ESXI Â clusters/ servers

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years engineering experience across enterprise VMware platforms:
• vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, NSX T
• Hands on experience deploying and operating OpenShift clusters (OCP3.x/4.x)
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes, containers, registries, operators and networking
• Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Git, Jenkins / GitLab CI , Nessus, Pentest and Prisma
• Strong Linux administration (RHEL/CentOS)
• Storage and network fundamentals (NFS, iSCSI, Load Balancers, DNS, TLS)
• Experience with monitoring and logging (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk

Nice to Have

• RHCSA / RHCE / OpenShift certifications
• VMware VCP / VCAP certifications
• Cloud knowledge (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with Service Mesh, API Gateways or GitOps (ArgoCD)
• Scripting: Bash / Python
• Previous working experience with Australia Telcos are preferred

Ability to support 24x7 or on call environments (if required)
