The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is a critical participant in the administration of justice within Western Australia, providing an independent and effective criminal prosecution service and confiscation practice.
The ODPP is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer who has the upmost confidence and ability to demonstrate their skills. As part of the Finance Services Team, the Accounts Payable Officer provides efficient and effective service in maintaining the Accounts Payable System and undertakes a range of Finance related activities to support the delivery of customer focussed and detailed financial support to the ODPP.
As this is a fast moving and busy role, you will be required to work accurately and efficiently. The desire to work above and beyond for both internal and external stakeholders of various levels will also be highly regarded. Your capability to adapt to change, work autonomously and apply your prior knowledge on various financial matters will enable you to broaden your knowledge and ensure success in your future development.
To be successful in this role, applicants will need to demonstrate:
- Ability to manage and create key relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in managing travel cards, credit cards and multiple transactions
- Sound knowledge of Accounts Payable Systems or willingness to learn such systems
- A solid understanding of accounting concepts and principles
- Experience in procurement and contract administration
- Up to date knowledge of the Financial Management Act and Treasurers instruction
- An understanding of spending rules and processes
One permanent role is available for immediate appointment.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a recruitment pool. This pool will run for a period of twelve months and may be used to fill other similar permanent and fixed-term full time and part time vacancies if they arise and subject to business needs.
