Business Analyst – Rail Control Systems

We’re partnering with a key client to secure an experienced Business Analyst to support a critical rail control systems project. This is a high-impact role sitting at the intersection of operations and technology, working closely with rail teams to drive meaningful project outcomes.

The Opportunity

You’ll play a pivotal role translating complex operational needs into clear, actionable technology solutions. This isn’t a generic BA role, we’re looking for someone who understands rail environments and can confidently engage with frontline teams, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver fit-for-purpose outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner closely with rail operations and control system stakeholders to understand business needs
• Gather, document, and validate detailed business and functional requirements
• Analyse current-state processes and identify improvement opportunities
• Develop clear business cases to support project initiatives and investment decisions
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions across technical and operational teams
• Act as the bridge between business and technology teams to ensure successful delivery

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in rail or heavy industry environments
• Strong understanding of rail control systems / operations (highly desirable)
• Demonstrated ability to partner with operational teams and build credibility on the ground
• Excellent requirements gathering, process mapping, and documentation skills
• Experience developing business cases and supporting investment decisions
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels
