About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Finance Manager – Reporting & Compliance, this role is responsible for delivering accurate financial accounting, reporting, reconciliations, and compliance support across Residential Aged Care and Community Aged Care operations.

Working closely with operational leaders and finance stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring financial integrity, supporting informed decision-making, and maintaining compliance with evolving aged care funding and regulatory requirements.

Your day-to-day will involve

  • Managing month-end processes including journals, accruals, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Preparing monthly management reports with analysis, commentary, and insights
  • Supporting Aged Care Quarterly Financial Returns (QFR) and other regulatory reporting requirements
  • Reconciling aged care funding activity including AN-ACC, Support at Home, and CHSP
  • Assisting with audit preparation, statutory reporting, and year-end financial statements
  • Partnering with operational managers to resolve financial queries and support decision-making
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, ERP optimisation, and reporting enhancements
  • Maintaining accurate financial records, controls, and compliance across the division

About you

You are a detail-oriented and commercially aware finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment. You bring strong financial accounting and reporting capability, with the ability to analyse information, solve problems, and communicate effectively with both finance and operational stakeholders.

You are comfortable managing competing priorities, working independently, and contributing to process improvement initiatives. Experience within aged care, community services, or a not-for-profit environment will be highly regarded, along with an understanding of aged care funding frameworks and compliance reporting.

You will bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • CPA or CA designation
  • Strong experience in financial and management accounting environments
  • Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and compliance requirements
  • Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, reporting, and analysis
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • ERP systems experience, ideally TechnologyOne
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Current driver licence and willingness to complete required checks including National Police Check and/or NDIS Worker Screening Check

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within Residential Aged Care, Community Aged Care, or not-for-profit organisations
  • Knowledge of AN-ACC, Support at Home, CHSP, and Aged Care QFR reporting
  • Experience with resident billing or management systems such as CareVision or ResMan
  • Exposure to aged care reforms and associated financial impacts
