Principal Consultant - Azure Cloud & DevOps

LAB3 is one of Australasia’s largest Azure engineering practices, specialising in Cloud & DevOps, Data, IoT & AI, Modern Workplace, Security, and Networks. We’re looking for a Principal Consultant- Azure Cloud & DevOps to join our Professional Services team, based anywhere in New Zealand or Australia.

The Role

  • Act as the leader for technical client engagements. Lead, deliver and oversee the Azure assessments, solutions, and implementation for our client(s)
  • Design, consult, deliver and manage technical solutions on Azure Cloud, Terraform, IaC & DevOps that address customer's requirements for automation, scalability, reliability, security, and performance. Utilise LAB3 proprietary products as required, to maximize efficiency.
  • Setup proof-of-concept prototypes that assess the feasibility of solutions and demonstrate to our clients how technology can be leveraged.
  • Run workshops and cloud adoption activities with our customers as necessary.
  • Identify, interpret, and communicate meaningful insights, conclusions, cost estimations and report to clients, as required.
  • Participate in the hiring and interview process for new LAB3sters
  • Demonstrate a hands-on ability to deliver appropriate technical solutions, including automation & optimisation within project and program time frames
  • Influence governance, processes and documentation within the practice

The Ideal Candidate

  • Significant experience in solution design, architecture, consulting and hands on delivery within the Azure cloud & DevOps environment. Advanced Azure knowledge, including Terraform, cloud systems integration, IaC, scripting & automation, ARM and ideally AKS.
  • Previous consulting experience managing external stakeholders within Microsoft, Cloud or Automation service organisations.
  • Experience with Azure Local is highly desirable,
  • An ongoing willingness to learn & upskill as well as train, coach and mentor others.
  • Resident, with full working rights, in Australia or New Zealand.

  • Azure Network, Azure Security, Azure IAM and RBAC Design
  • Azure Local
  • Azure Integration (Logic Apps, API Management etc.) and Microservices
  • Azure Security Centre Operations
  • Azure Management Groups & Subscription Management
  • PowerShell module creation and management
  • Secure Azure SQL solutions & Cloud Storage
  • Cloud identity, Security, Governance, Licensing, Azure Backup, Azure Portal & AD.
  • Open-source containers (AKS Kubernetes)
