Design Architect (10+ Years)
We are looking for a design-driven architect to lead the Brisbane Studio and collaborate on projects throughout Australia and New Zealand. We are seeking an experienced Design Architect to join our Brisbane Studio in a full time, permanent capacity, supporting our multidisciplinary teams.
Skills & Experience
Design Architects work under the direction of the Studio Directors, requiring close working relationships with their project team at MODE to deliver design excellence, from initial concept through to project delivery, balancing creative vision with technical precision. They will lead their team in a highly effective manner which includes mentoring and overviewing Architects and junior staff as appropriate to meet deadlines and project requirements.
Profile and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will have
- Qualifications & Industry Knowledge: Tertiary qualification in Architecture recognised in Australia; Architectural registration. Strong understanding of local, state, and national planning regulations, legislation, and construction codes.
- Design & Technical Leadership: Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality architectural outcomes across design, documentation and construction phases, with strong technical capability and attention to detail.
- Project Leadership & Management: Proven ability to develop and manage programs for the delivery of architectural services, coordinate project schedules, ensuring timely and successful project outcomes.
- Stakeholder & Consultant Liaison: Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with clients, consultants, and internal teams to support project delivery and foster positive working relationships.
- Team Leadership & BIM Capability: Ability to lead teams or work autonomously as required, with advanced proficiency in Revit and BIM coordination, ensuring high-quality documentation and delivery across the project lifecycle.
You Will Be Able To
- Lead Design and Project Delivery: Lead projects through all stages from concept design to construction completion, overseeing consultant coordination, planning approvals, documentation, contract administration, and site inspections.
- Lead and Develop Project Teams: Provide clear design direction, mentorship, and support to project team members to foster a collaborative, high-performing studio culture focused on design excellence .
- Manage Client and Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders, ensure projects are delivered successfully with a focus on quality outcomes and client satisfaction.
- Contribute to Studio Performance and Growth: Support business development initiatives and contribute to winning new work. Maintain high standards of design quality, efficiency, and project profitability and contribute to broader studio objectives including innovation, growth, and design excellence.
