About The Role
Townsville City Council is seeking an experienced and contemporary leader to guide the evolution of our Creative Communities portfolio, encompassing galleries, performing arts, events, and venue management.
This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for modernising services, uplifting capability, and strengthening governance and systems across a diverse and high-profile portfolio. You will lead a period of organisational change, ensuring services operate with contemporary local government standards while delivering strong community outcomes.
A key focus will be the development and implementation of Council’s Arts and Culture Strategy, embedding it into operational planning and decision-making to guide investment, priorities and service delivery.
About You
You are a contemporary senior leader with the ability to lead complex services and deliver strong community outcomes. You bring experience driving organisational improvement, strengthening governance and uplifting team capability, with a track record of leading through change while maintaining service performance.
You are a collaborative and influential leader who builds trusted relationships across stakeholders and works effectively in a complex, public-facing environment. You bring sound financial and commercial acumen, along with a strong commitment to safety, compliance and accountability.
You are motivated by delivering sustainable, community-focused services and contributing to a vibrant and liveable city.
