What you'll be up to

As an Independent and Direct Account Manager, you are responsible for maximising revenue from new and existing Independent Agencies and Direct market clients while ensuring high levels of client satisfaction. The role involves managing and growing a portfolio of accounts, building strong client relationships, and meeting sales targets by identifying and converting opportunities. You will help increase QMS Media’s market share across Large Format Billboards, Canberra Airport, Retail, and Street Furniture products. Additionally, you are expected to champion the QMS brand and uphold company values and behaviours within the Direct market. In addition you will also:

  • Develop and manage quarterly business plans to meet revenue targets.
  • Source, prospect, and grow new profitable market opportunities.
  • Engage in clients’ strategic planning to strengthen partnerships.
  • Deliver product demonstrations and prepare proposals, contracts, and account plans.
  • Identify upsell opportunities and expand existing client campaigns.
  • Support new business pitches using industry knowledge.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to meet monthly budgets and strategic goals.
  • Manage multiple client accounts and campaigns, ensuring on-time delivery and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with creative teams, agency clients, Direct clients, and stakeholders for smooth execution.
  • Deliver regular campaign updates, performance reports, and insights to clients.
  • Present Post Campaign Reports (PCR) with recommendations.
  • Serve as the main contact for Independent agencies and Direct clients, building strong long-term relationships through proactive communication.
  • Understand client goals to deliver tailored, solution-based outdoor media strategies.
  • Lead the planning and execution of campaigns aligned to client objectives and budgets.

What we’re looking for

  • Degree in business, media, communications, or related field (preferred).
  • 2–3 years’ experience in agency or direct sales, OOH, or a similar agency role.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and meet individual and team sales targets.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and persuasive skills.
  • Solid OOH industry knowledge with the ability to translate client needs into solutions.
  • Excellent multitasking, project management, and attention to detail.
  • Able to balance client needs with business priorities.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Confident networker with key decision-makers.
