  • Coordinate batching, drivers, deliveries, plant stock, customer bookings
  • Retail & fuel discounts, extra leave & genuine career growth across Adbri

The role

We’re looking for a motivated and reliable Concrete Batcher / Despatcher to join the team at Swan Materials in Armadale. You’ll be the operational heartbeat of the plant - ensuring smooth and efficient concrete deliveries across the Perth metro area. You’ll manage concrete batching, scheduling, driver coordination and rosters, taking customer bookings, managing raw material stock ordering and management (including loader driving), site safety, and day-to-day plant operations.

This is a coordination-heavy role, handling a high volume of incoming customer bookings and operational calls daily. If you thrive under pressure, enjoy coordinating people and logistics, and know your way around concrete batching systems, this is an opportunity to join a business where your experience and work ethic will be genuinely valued.

Key responsibilities:

  • Taking customer phone and email orders and enquiries
  • Operating the concrete batching system (Command)
  • Scheduling and allocating agitator drivers and trucks to customer jobs
  • Coordinating drivers and ensuring deliveries are on time
  • Handling customer updates, delays, rescheduling and service issues
  • Monitoring stock levels and coordinating raw material requirements (including operating a front-end loader)
  • Completing plant pre-starts, daily housekeeping and ensuring safe plant operation
  • Supporting fatigue management and Chain of Responsibility compliance

Hours: Monday – Friday (rostered shifts are between the hours of 3am – 4pm, with flexibility needed for busy periods). Saturday shifts are fortnightly, based on customer demand.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who can confidently manage a busy operation, think on their feet, and communicate effectively with drivers, concreters, customers and suppliers in a fast-moving environment.

  • Previous batching experience within the concrete industry (use of Command desirable)
  • Front-end loader experience
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Confident communication skills and ability to handle pressure
  • Experience in dispatching, scheduling or logistics coordination
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive and safety-focused mindset
  • Experience in dispatching, scheduling or logistics coordination
  • Forklift licence desirable
