Your Position at St John of God Geelong Hospital
We are seeking a friendly and professional
Hospital Concierge and Security to welcome caregivers, patients and visitors, delivering an exceptional hospital experience. You will mainly work at the front of house, attend emergency codes to support clinical staff, and assist engineering teams when required.
Hours: Full time, Monday–Friday 0800–1606 (7.6 hours), with some weekends and public holidays.
The Position
- Meet and greet patients and visitors to the hospital, providing a welcoming friendly first point of contact, ensuring that all people feel welcome.
- Responsible for the security of the caregivers, patients and visitors coming to the hospital.
- Provide assistance to front reception teams in the event of aggressive behaviours expressed by any person, and provide support with deescalating these behaviours Respond to relevant emergency codes Ascertain reason for arrival and provide directions to site services.
- Monitor building access practices, ensuring that patient arrivals and departures occur in a safe manner. Assist patients with their luggage and mobile aids on arrival/departure. Assist patients in and out of vehicles.
You will have previous concierge or customer service experience, with proven ability to manage and de-escalate challenging situations, and a strong passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
To succeed, you will have exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, along with excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to multi-task.

The Benefits
- Salary: $57,990 to $59,720 per annum (pro rata for part time), plus 12% superannuation
- Permanent full-time role
