Senior Cost Planner

An opportunity with a Tier 2 head contractor delivering new-build projects $50M+ across aged care, commercial, health, residential, and mixed-use sectors.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for preparing and managing accurate cost plans and estimates from feasibility through to pre-construction, including budget management, risk and opportunity identification, and supporting project teams to achieve strong commercial outcomes.

This role could also suit a seasoned Estimator or Senior Estimator looking to transition into a cost planning position.

A competitive salary package will be offered, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost plans and estimates across all design stages
• Provide cost advice, value engineering, and identify risks/opportunities
• Support design development, procurement strategies, and tender pricing
• Engage with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
• Assist with trade package scoping and cost reporting

Requirements

• Experience in a head contractor cost planning or estimating role
• Background within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor environment (preferred)
• Proven experience on new-build projects $50M+
• Experience working on ECI's
• Exposure to multiple sectors (aged care, commercial, health, residential, mixed-use preferred)
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Senior Cost Planner (if applicable)

• Lead cost planning on larger or complex projects
• Mentor junior team members and provide strategic input
• Confident in client-facing responsibilities
