About the Role
This role reporting directly to the General Manager of Networks is a leadership role responsible for driving the integrity of ancillary and dental claims across HBF, QCHF & See-u brands. You will lead a high-performing team to detect, investigate and prevent fraud & claims leakage while strengthening systems, processes and governance to minimise financial loss. Working closely with key stakeholders, you'll ensure fair, evidence-based outcomes and contribute to the ongoing development and execution of HBF's evolving payment integrity strategy.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and manage end-to-end ancillary integrity operations, including fraud, abuse, waste and error (FAWE) investigations
- Coach and develop a team of specialists, fostering a culture of accountability, performance and continuous improvement
- Oversee complex investigations, ensuring consistent, fair and evidence-based outcomes aligned with legal and regulatory frameworks
- Strengthen claims review, audit processes and analytics to proactively identify and mitigate financial risk
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders (including legal, compliance and authorities) to manage escalations and drive outcomes
- Contribute to strategy, governance and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payment integrity and reduce leakage
- As a member of the Networks Leadership Team, you will be a core contributor to shaping team culture and departmental direction, leading by example and bringing the HBF behaviours to life in everything you do
This position is based in Perth on a permanent full-time basis.
About You
You're an experienced and values-driven leader with strong expertise in fraud and integrity management within a complex environment. You bring a proactive, analytical approach to risk, along with the ability to lead through ambiguity and influence outcomes across a broad range of stakeholders. Known for your integrity and sound judgement, you're confident handling sensitive matters and driving high-quality, consistent decisions.
Ideally, you will have:
- Proven leadership experience in fraud, abuse, waste and error (FAWE) or payment integrity management
- Strong knowledge of ancillary claims, provider behaviour and fraud risks within private health or a similar industry
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex or incomplete information
- Demonstrated experience managing sensitive investigations with professionalism and objectivity
- Highly developed stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and balance competing priorities
- Qualifications in fraud investigation or health, or a related discipline (desirable), with strong governance and risk capability
