This well-established non-bank lender has built one of the most compelling track records in Australian FinTech. With over a decade of lending expertise and more than $1.5 billion in B2B transactions funded, the business has helped thousands of SME and mid-market businesses access growth capital. With a clear strategic mandate to expand into the larger commercial market, they are growing their Commercial Finance Solutions team with new hires instrumental to their next stage of its growth.
The business operates with a high-energy, collaborative and innovation-led culture from its Sydney office and is known for giving its people genuine autonomy and direct access to senior leadership. Both roles are newly created, reflecting deliberate growth and represent a rare chance to shape a commercial lending capabilities for the organisation and its customers.
The Director / Head of Commercial Finance Solutions will report directly to the CEO and take ownership of the full commercial sales strategy. This is a senior, entrepreneurial role for someone who can design bespoke financial solutions, architect complex deals and bring an established network of commercial relationships to the table. You will play an active role in shaping product development and business process improvement, contributing directly to the business from origination, through to execution and new lending product development (including across debtor, invoice, or growth financing).
The Business Development Manager will build and manage a high-quality pipeline of mid-to-large market opportunities, develop deep relationships with senior decision-makers in large SME and mid-market businesses across multiple industry verticals and most importantly be a consultative partner by developing deep knowledge of clients’ strategic priorities and business needs to deliver tailored lending solutions that genuinely solve client problems.
Successful candidates will have the following key skills, experience and attributes:
Director - 8+ years of B2B sales leadership experience in financial services, fintech, trade finance or business lending, ideally with an investment banking or FinTech advisory background
BDM - 5+ years of B2B sales experience within Australian financial services, fintech or commercial lending
- A demonstrated track record of building and converting a high-quality pipeline of commercial or mid-market opportunities
- An established professional network within the B2B commerce and commercial lending sector that can be activated immediately
- Advanced commercial and financial acumen — comfortable structuring complex deals, financial literacy, and communicating value to sophisticated clients
- Exceptional relationship-building and negotiation skills, with confidence engaging at founder, CFO, and C-suite level
- A driven, entrepreneurial mindset with the resilience to thrive in a fast-moving, scale-up environment
- Curiosity and a genuine interest in embedded finance, data and AI and their commercial applications
