Opportunity

We’re looking for a Learning Design Specialist to join our Talent and Capability team, where you will design and develop high-quality digital and blended learning solutions using contemporary, evidence-based instructional design practices. This is a hands-on creative role for someone who is passionate about producing engaging, accessible learning experiences that support real capability and performance outcomes.

Working closely with subject matter experts, the Learning Design Partner and delivery colleagues, you will produce learning products that are accurate, practical and effective – and ensure they are correctly configured and governed within the Learning Management System.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing digital learning assets using Articulate 360 or equivalent authoring tools, including eLearning modules, micro-learning, multimedia content and interactive assessments.
  • Creating facilitator guides, participant workbooks, job aids and performance support tools aligned to defined learning outcomes and organisational quality standards.
  • Applying accessibility standards, universal design principles, contemporary learning science and effective evaluation methods across all content development.
  • Configuring, uploading and testing learning items within the LMS (currently SuccessFactors), ensuring quality, discoverability, version control and governance compliance.
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts, the Learning Delivery Partner and other stakeholders to ensure learning solutions are accurate, practical and effective.
  • Supporting user testing and learner feedback processes, iterating content based on evaluation insights and continuous improvement recommendations.
  • Maintaining accurate design artefacts, including storyboards, scripts, metadata and version control records, to support governance and audit requirements.
  • Contributing to a team culture that values design quality, evidence-based practice, accessibility and continuous improvement.

About You

Your passion for learning design, attention to detail and commitment to an exceptional learner experience will set you up for success in this role.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in instructional design and digital learning development, including production of eLearning, blended and multimedia learning content.
  • Proficiency in Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise) or equivalent authoring tools, with a strong understanding of digital learning production workflows.
  • Sound knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodology and contemporary learning science.
  • Experience configuring and managing learning items in a Learning Management System (LMS), including metadata, version control and compliance structures.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards and universal design principles, with the ability to apply these consistently across all content.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts, translating technical or operational knowledge into clear, engaging learning experiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to design quality, including adherence to organisational standards, style guides and governance requirements.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability
  • Experience in a government, transport, aviation or safety-critical organisation will be highly regarded.
